Rising Readers Project

Beginning in November of 2026 we will offer, five days a week, a rigorous English-language training opportunity for children in Nepal living in a rural context. Schools there struggle with supplies, library books, teacher training, and advanced curriculum.

We intend to purchase the best curriculum available and — using online teacher training delivered by expert teachers from North America, along with the provision of a library — see English-language skills flourish. Each cohort will keep a low student-to-teacher ratio to encourage real results.

How are children selected? We offer this opportunity to the strongest students in the local schools. Expectations are high, and the goal is that students will excel and become peer tutors of other children — enriching as many students as possible. Selection is based only on academic performance and commitment to participate, and on no other criteria.
